Areas Calculator
- Need to know how the areas of squares, rectangles, triangles, trapeziums, parallelograms and circles are calculated? Well, this App is for you. It can be used to calculate the areas of the various shapes and also tells you the formula it used.
- Each shape has a number of values it needs to know before it can calculate the area for the shape. Just specify these values and the answer is given below.
FAQ: This App does not work properly it keeps on crashing, why?
Sometimes Apps just do not download properly. You will need to download it again, for free, using itunes. See Apple Support Pages
About half way down the page there's a set of instructions that starts 'Reinstall the affected application'.
Once iTunes has it then you sync your device and it should then work. If it does not then please to contact me.
When the Application StartsThe main page of the App is this page. At the top is the selector that allows you to calculate the areas of various shapes. Just select the shape you want to calculate and the screen changes to show that shape and the values required to be able to calculate the area. To enter a value just tap the screen at or near its place on the diagram. So to specify 'side a' of the square just tap the screen at the letter 'a'. The label 'Value' changes to say 'Side a' and the keypad automatically appears ready for you to enter the value. Enter the value for the side and then press OK and the keypad is dismissed. In the case of the square all values of the square change to show the value specified. Because the App now has enough information to calculate the area the result appears below the diagram. You can clear all the values by pressing the 'Clear All' button. |
The Preferences PageTo change the Units shown for the answer just select the 'Preferences' button on the main page and you will be taken to this page. Select the units you want to see in the answers and select 'Save'. These units will now be shown on the diagrams and as the units of the answer. Select 'Cancel' to ignore the selection made. |
A TrapeziumA more complicated shape to calculate the area for is the trapezium. In this case there are three values that have to be specified before the area can be calculated. So in this case you will have to use the keypad to specify the values for side a, side b and the height. Once you have specified all three the answer is shown. |
Purchase Volumes CalculatorThis App provides the ability to purchase the other companion App - The Volumes Calculator. Pressing the Volumes button takes you to the purchase Volumes page. For this page to work you will need internet access and the ability to purchase the App functionality from the App Store. When you go to this page you have to wait while the App checks the purchasing information with the App store. When the large button changes to 'Buy Now' you can select to purchase the Volumes Calculator functionality. This is all handled by the App Store. All purchasing information is handled using your App Store information. Essence Computing has no access to this information. |
